Grand Bend’s FREE Summer Concert Series

SummerSunsetSeries2016

Every Sunday night throughout the summer, visitors are treated to concerts on the beach at no charge. There are some highly talented musicians, some with national and international followings. Picture this: you’re enjoying the sounds of quality live music with a backdrop of one of the country’s, some say the world’s, most beautiful sunsets.

It almost seems to good to be true! But the plans are to continue the concert series every summer. In the past, acts like Trent Severn, The Walkervilles, The Stegalls, Ivory Hours, Josh Geddis, blues favourites Chuckee Zehr and the Crawdaddies and local crooner Michael Vanhevel there is a musical genre for everyone.

A new concert stage has been built on the beach to enjoy the sounds of concerts right on the water.

Find out more about the Grand Bend Summer Sunset Sounds concert series here on their Facebook Page

Bach Festival – Unforgettable!

Words heard by fellow audience members after seeing the opening concert featuring Spanish pianist Leopoldo Erice: “incredible”, “simply amazing”, “awesome” and “mind-boggling” to name a few.

What a treat and an honour for our area to host the musicians that are playing in Exeter this week during the Bach Music Festival. For anyone that enjoys listening to classical music, choral ensembles or musical instruments in general this event is not to be missed. Unfortunately this event only comes once every 2 years. Check out the performances and get tickets while they are still available.

Later this week:

– Wednesday July 15th at 8:00pm: Echoes of Back featuring Reverb Brass
– Thursday July 16th at 8:00pm: A Summer Evening featuring Bach Festival Chamber Choir and Orchesra
– Friday July 17th at 7:30pm: Youth Arts Program Showcase
– Saturday July 18th at 7:00pm: Gala Closing Performance featuring a double choir of over 100, full orchestra and 6 soloists.

Why not stay the night in Grand Bend? Check out our special Bach Festival Package available this week, and enjoy a special at Eddington’s of Exeter for dinner.

Busy, busy, busy.

Perhaps while you’ve driving by you’ve seen our excellent housekeeping and grounds-keeping staff doing the raking and garden prep for the spring and summer! On top of that we’ve been preparing for some renovations to happen at some point in the near future. That’s what has been going on with us.

Now, for the events in town? Arts, Eats and Beats is happening May 1, 2 and 3 and we have some artists showcasing their work in the lobby and in the lounge, we’re also offering The Star Treatment package with rooms starting at $95+tax/night and it includes a complimentary bottle of wine (your choice of white or red) and chocolates, if you ask nicely we’ll even throw in the use of our Pinery Park passes and a 5% discount card for Smackwater Jack’s.
